                                                    Welcome to Third Grade!

I have been teaching in the Manitowoc Public Schools for the past 21 years.  I really enjoy teaching 3rd graders and seeing them grow academically.

Homework
Your child is expected to read at least 20 minutes nightly (Monday through Thursday) and one weekend day (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).  The goal is to read at least 100 minutes per week.  It is also very important that your child respond to the reading on their log.  The reading logs are due every Monday.  Your child will also come home with math facts or homework.  The facts should be practiced each night for 5-10 minutes.  All third graders must know the multiplication facts from memory by the end of the school year.

Healthy Snack
Please bring a snack each day.  We will have snack and milk at 9:50 each day.  Healthy snacks to bring might be:  fruit, vegetables, crackers, granola bars, yogurt, cheese, or something else you feel is healthy.

Parent/Teacher Communication
Communication is vital to your child's education.  Please feel free to contact me about any concerns you may have regarding your child's education.  You may contact me by phone, email, or by writing a note in your child's assignment notebook.
